Borrowed things
are worth more.
A coin from your own pocket is a prop. A ring from someone's hand is a hostage. Everything on this plate is built to take an object the audience already cares about, and to give it back in a place it has no business being.
Which means the tolerances matter. A casket that takes a wedding band and returns it scratched is not a trick, it is a bill. Ours are lined in baize and tested with a borrowed ring before they leave.
